Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.   —Matthew 5:4

I am the resurrection and the life;  he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die.
Do you believe this?
   —John 11:25–26

Funerals at St. Dominic Church

The loss of a loved one is very difficult.  St. Dominic Church supports those who have experienced loss.  You are encouraged to contact us right away after the passing of a parishioner or someone connected with the church.  We will be glad to meet with the family and friends of the deceased, to offer prayer and support for the deceased and the family,  and to offer funeral services.

Miscarriages

The Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Washington will work with pastors and Catholic couples that experience the loss of a child before full-term birth to bury the baby's remains in sacred ground. Catholic couples who experience a miscarriage or early death of their pre-born baby have burial options available at Catholic Cemeteries. Please contact the parish to meet with the pastor about the process. Internment in the Miscarried Baby sections is free of charge to Catholic families who have requested burial through the care of their priest. Priests here at St. Dominic's will walk with you through the process as you grieve and heal.
