Pro-Life Ministry
You are encouraged to support the dignity of the unborn through our two pro-life ministries featured below.
Baby Item DonationsOur parish supports both the Capitol Hill Pregnancy Center and the Joseph P. Kennedy Early Head Start Program through a monthly collection of items needed by new families. Diapers, wipes, and formula are especially needed, but other good quality items will be accepted as well. In the bulletin you will find information on how and when you can participate. You can also email our Social Coordinator using the following email link: |
P24The Proverbs 24 Community (P24) is a collaborative effort of several Catholic parishes in Washington, DC that started in response to the opening of a Planned Parenthood facility in Northeast DC. P24 gathers at least one Saturday a month, and community members witness in one of three ways: giving peaceful, prayerful witness in front of the Planned Parenthood (walkers), spending a Holy Hour in Adoration to pray for the pro-life cause (pray-ers), or preparing a meal for all to share at the conclusion of the witness and the Holy Hour (cookers). Our goal is to build up a pro-life community among Catholic parishes in Washington, DC. We invite you to be a part of our efforts. |
A New Vision on Capitol Hill
On Wednesday, June 27, 2018, Bishop Mario Dorsonville, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Washington, blessed a new Ultrasound machine at Capitol Hill Pregnancy Center, one of Washington, D.C.'s only women's pregnancy resource centers. The machine was provided by the Knights of Columbus (Patrick Cardinal O’Boyle Council 11302 based at St. Dominic’s) as part of their Ultrasound Initiative program, which features local and national Knights of Columbus chapters joining forces to split the complete cost of the machines, donated free of charge to pregnancy centers. |
